The pictures say it all. The best of 7 games with the home team losing EVERY one of their games (a first ever)....but they stayed the fight and my beloved Nats won their 1st World Series against the Houston Astros. We watched every game and were messaging with our great friends 'Team W' in DC who were up at night watching the game also. Also had an Astros fan here in Canberra to bounce excitement off - must be the only one :)
I started the day off by getting two cortisone injections in my neck (for the disc) which hurt a little but was more uncomfortable and a bit scary. The local anaesthetic bombed me flat, my hands and arms went numb from the nerve impact and I wasn't sure I'd be awake to see the game when I got home (you'll see two nice white patches on my neck for my bravery). But I perked up when we got home and safely stayed the whole game. Also had a cortisone injection in my finger on Tuesday - holy serious swear words Batman - that hurt like hell. Very very painful, I don't know how I didn't faint.
Well that's the trifecta for me in 12 months - Washington Capitals Ice Hockey last year watching the game in the streets with 1000's of fans, the AFL Richmond Tigers last month and now, the Nationals baseball world series. I am a very happy little Batman.
